It was many years ago when Shane began his love affair with music. On a beach in Noosa Australia he discovered the Balearic sound with a set of headphones and a sunset. It wasn’t long after this chance encounter with a random cd that he bought his first record. And then armed with a set of turntables he began sharing this music on the beach in the afternoons.
Many a lazy day on the beach he delved deeper into this new vibe and developed a blend of the Balearic sound of Ibiza and Latin bossa all spun with a certain laidbackness…if that indeed is an actual word.
A few years on DJ Shane SOS has become an aficionado of the beach sound and has received international recognition as a premier DJ. Shane moved to Sydney in 2000 and found they had beaches there to. And they had Lounge bars.
So he walked in to Sydney’s most famous, Hemmesphere, and so began a long relationship that has born a special blend of exotic lounge and intimate smooth house sounds. He can still be found there every week, spinning records for discerning locals and the odd visiting celebrity.
Around those early days in Sydney Shane also created the blissbomb weekly radio program on Bondifm, now in the seventh year, is famous for providing the Sunday afternoon soundtrack for much of Bondi Beach and many an afternoon BBQ here there and everywhere, on the internet. If you have been anywhere in Bondi on a Sunday chances are you’ve heard the show without even knowing it.
He has been featured as a guest DJ on the UK’s BBC Radio 1 and recorded a live set for the infamous radio station. Shane has also played guest slots for Ministry of Sound London and Ibiza Sonica in 2008, but after all this chilling it was time for Shane to turn his attention to the dance floor. He has now well and truly discovered the other side of his chilled out persona. Finding himself behind the decks in Ibiza, Morocco, Bali and Italy.
Shane believes like in the days of old, the dance floor was a journey you took with the DJ. The goal is always to lift the crowd with his Soul Filled, Uplifting House Music. His club sets are a journey from Summer Deepness to big room euphoric progressive… getting lost in the bass, the lightness and going higher always higher.

Playing every weekend to the Sunday crowds on Bondi Beach for summer 06\07 (broadcast live worldwide). Spinning for nearly 50 000 people at Sydney’s Olympic stadium for the opening of the 20\Twenty. And all of the Blissbomb secret outdoor shows, of course. Shane has also played private gigs for international rock acts: U2, PEARL JAM, LYRICS BORN and REM.
